According to the report, total printing-writing paper shipments decreased 1% in February compared to February 2023. U.S. purchases of total printing-writing papers remained essentially flat (-0.1%) in February compared to the same month last year. Total printing-writing paper inventory levels decreased 1% when compared to January 2024.

February 16, 2024
January 2024 saw a 9% drop in total printing-writing paper shipments from January 2023. In December 2023, U.S. purchases decreased 19% compared to December 2022. Inventory levels also fell by 1% from December 2023. Shipments in all major P-W categories declined: Uncoated Free Sheet by 3%, Coated Free Sheet by 12%, and Mechanical papers by 35%.
