U.S. purchases of total printing-writing papers decreased 29% in June compared to the same month last year. Total printing-writing paper inventory levels decreased 4% when compared to May 2023.

AF&PA's June 2023 report: Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments decreased by 1% compared to June 2022 and 4% for the first half of 2023. 

According to the report, total printing-writing paper shipments decreased 22% in May compared to May 2022.

Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in May decreased 5% compared to May 2022. They were down 4% when compared to the same 5 months of 2022.

Total Boxboard production in Q1 decreased 5% compared to Q1 2022. The boxboard operating rate was 87.8%, down 6.1 points from Q1.
