AF&PA Releases March 2022 Packaging Papers Monthly Report

WASHINGTON – The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released its March 2022 Packaging Papers & Specialty Packaging Monthly report.

Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in March decreased four percent compared to March 2021. They were down two percent when compared to the same three months of 2021.

  • The operating rate was 88.3 percent, down 3.9 points from March 2021 and down 1.1 points year-to-date.
  • Mill inventories at the end of March remained essentially flat (-704 short tons) from the previous month and were down 1,000 short tons compared to March 2021.
