American Forest & Paper Association Releases December 2019 Boxboard Monthly Report

WASHINGTON – The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) today released its December 2019 Boxboard Monthly Report. 

Total boxboard production in December decreased five percent compared to December 2018 and was down one percent when compared to the same 12 months of 2018. The boxboard operating rate was 88.8 percent, down 4.0 points from December 2018 and down 1.5 points year-to-date. 

Solid bleached boxboard production in December decreased four percent compared to December 2018 and was down one percent when compared to the same 12 months of 2018.
Recycled boxboard production in December decreased three percent compared to December 2018 and was down one percent when compared to the same 12 months of 2018.
Unbleached kraft & gypsum production in December decreased eight percent compared to December 2018 and was down one percent when compared to the same 12 months of 2018.
