WASHINGTON — The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) President and CEO Heidi Brock issued the following statement in response to major news organizations declaring the presidential election outcome:

“AF&PA congratulates President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris. Our members are committed to preserving and growing the economic contributions of the industry and its individual companies to society; fostering the well-being of their communities; promoting sustainable manufacturing practices, energy generation and conservation, and fiber procurement measures that protect the environment; and, ensuring our resources will be as available for future generations as they are today. These sustainable practices are the foundation of our industry.

We look forward to working with the Biden administration and Congress on behalf of the approximately 950,000 forest products industry employees who are manufacturing essential and sustainable paper and wood-based products that are used daily by people across the country and around the world.
