WASHINGTON –
American Forest & Paper Association President and CEO Donna Harman issued the following statement on yesterday’s U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors announcement to maintain current postal rates through Early 2015.

“By eliminating the uncertainty around a possible rate increase, mailers can be assured that the current pricing of postal products and services will remain in effect through the holiday season and early part of 2015. This decision helps mail remain a competitive option as advertisers plan their marketing and communications strategies over the next few months.

“While this is a short-term positive step, bipartisan legislation will be needed to put the Postal Service on track for long-term success.”
